Report a potential property fire hazard

All observed potential fire hazards can be reported.

Before reporting a potential fire hazard it is important to know that properties that were issued a fire prevention notice the previous year are sent a Courtesy Letter each year clearly instructing them as to when their properties need to be cleared by.

For the 2016/17 season, the required clearance dates are as follows:

North Zone:

31 October 2016

(all areas north of Aberdeen Street)

Central Zone:

14 November 2016

(south of Aberdeen Street and west of Whitehorse Road Moolap)

East Zone:

5 December  2016

(east of Whitehorse Road)

The owners of land in these zones are given until the above dates to carry out fire prevention clearance works. As such if you wish to complain about a vacant block we  advise you that we are going to inspect these properties as part of our inspection process close to these dates.

If there is a house on the property we will ask our Fire Prevention staff to inspect the premises but we need the correct address for this to occur.

When you report this issue you will need to tell us:

  • the location of the potential property fire hazard - you may prefer to select the address by dragging the map marker to the location

  • is there a house on the property

    • if so, provide information about the status of the house

  • is the property being grazed

  • the type of vegetation on the property

  • any other comments

  • and if you want feedback,

    • your name

    • your contact details (email or phone number)
