Family Day Care

Family Day Care (FDC) is a home-based child care service.

Family Day Care is available for children aged between 6 weeks and 12 years in the homes of consistent and committed Educators, who support high quality standards and provide continuity of care for children in a safe, secure and caring home environment.

FDC Educators

The FDC Educators, previously known as Care Providers,  operate under a service agreement with the City of Greater Geelong.

Under the Childrens Services regulations, FDC Educators are able to provide care for up to four children not attending school, and three children attending school, for a maximum of seven children; including the FDC Educator's own children.

Priority access to FDC is given to children with parents who are working, studying or seeking work. Social care can be provided but hours are limited.

Vacancies

Dependant on vacancies, Family Day Care can be provided for non standard hours of care, ie evenings, overnights, some weekends, for work related purposes only. Kindergarten/school pick up and drop off may be available, dependent on vacancies and the availability of car seat restraint space.

Family Day Care fees

Fees for our service range from $11.50 to $13.50 per child per hour from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Outside of these core hours and on public holidays the fee ranges from $13.50 to $15.50 per child per hour. This fee is decided upon by the individual Educator in consultation with the Coordination Unit.

Child Care Benefit and the Childcare Tax Rebate apply in Family Day Care.
