Food Access and Support in the Geelong Region Booklet

Food Security exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.

(Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations Rome declaration, 1996)

At any given time, a proportion of people experience some degree of food insecurity which can occur at the individual, household and community level. This booklet outlines the many organisations that offer food assistance, food programs and food access options operating in Geelong for people in times of need.

Information contained in this booklet is also available in accessible format in our community directory.
