In Victoria, Secondary schooling begins for children 12 years of age. Each school receives government funding, public or private. Public schools are generally considered a ‘free’ education but in reality there are some associated costs such as a voluntary school levy, uniforms, excursions and some books.
Private schooling in Geelong starts from around $3000 per child per year, but prices increase sharply depending on the school.
