Discounted cat desexing month - July 2017

Friday, 23 June 2017

During July 2017, we'll partner with local veterinarians, Geelong Animal Welfare Society, Royal Canin and Bayer to offer discounts on cat desexing.

It’s an unfortunate fact that every year many cats are euthanised due to unwanted pregnancies. Not only is this an unfortunate animal welfare situation, but also a significant financial burden to the community.

You can help by...

  • ensuring your cat/s are desexed and micro-chipped

  • contacting Council regarding any stray cats that could be contained, desexed and re-homed

  • helping us to reduce the number of unwanted kittens being born.

Council Domestic Animal Management Plan requires that all newly registered cats are desexed at the time of registration and all existing registered cats be desexed by the end of 2017 unless you are a registered breeder or a member of an applicable organisation.

A fact! - A pair of entire cats can lead to the birth of up to 132 cats over a 4 year period! So we encourage you to take the opportunity in making a difference by having your cat treated.
