Leopold Community Hub

Tuesday, 8 August 2017

Construction has started on Leopold’s new library and community centre.

Earthworks and in-ground plumbing and electrical services have been completed. The ground floor foundations and concrete slab are expected to be completed in August.

Following this, you’ll see the structure start to take shape when the pre-cast tilt panels are installed in September.

The community hub will provide a much needed civic centre for the rapidly growing Leopold community.

Stage two works include a library, youth area, multi-purpose community rooms and public open space.

Construction is expected to finish in September 2018, with the facility opening to the public soon after.

Stage two is funded by the City ($6.25 million) and the State Government ($3.75 million) and will inject more than $21 million into the regional economy, and support 46 jobs during construction.
