Peninsula Drive water issue

Thursday, 31 August 2017

City of Greater Geelong Acting Director City Services Peter Godfrey:

The intersection of Anderson Road and Peninsula Drive (Drysdale) is a natural low point, and some intense storms this year have caused short-term flows of water across this roadway.

We understand the frustration of local roads users, and ask for their continued patience as our operational staff check drainage pits and pipes for any blockages of silt and other debris.

This is a big task, especially as the City maintains 2,158 km of sealed and unsealed roads, and over 60,000 drainage pits.

As well as maintenance works, we are investigating future solutions with VicRoads to resolve this drainage issue as part of the Drysdale Bypass project, due for commencement in 2018.
