Alleged dog attack in Belmont

Wednesday, 11 October 2017

We issued this response to the Geelong Advertiser’s query regarding an alleged dog attack in Belmont.

City of Greater Geelong spokesperson:

The City is currently investigating this alleged incident and is working with the local Police.

Allegedly two Staffordshire Terriers attacked a woman who was walking her two dogs. All four dogs were on a leash at the time of the alleged attack.

The victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance with a suspected broken arm and apparently the Police took away one of the Staffordshire terriers.

We are making enquiries with the Police to obtain more information as our investigation proceeds.

There are currently six dogs being held in the City pound due to ongoing investigations separate to this incident.
