Sustainable collaborations drive Greater Geelong

Friday, 3 November 2017

Local organisations are collaborating to benefit the Greater Geelong region and its community by positively impacting local environmental, economic and social sustainability.

Through the Future Proofing Geelong initiative, we have taken a leadership position in securing the prosperity of the region by fostering partnerships with other government agencies, the private sector and community through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), harnessing their combined sustainability efforts into a cohesive framework.

The organisations involved include:

  • Barwon Health

  • Barwon Region Water Corporation

  • Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group

  • City of Greater Geelong

  • Committee for Geelong

  • Deakin University

  • Geelong Chamber of Commerce

  • Geelong Manufacturing  Council

  • Geelong and Region Trades and Labour Council

  • The Gordon

The partnership supports the region as it strives to be nationally and internationally recognised as a leader in sustainability, assisting Greater Geelong’s transition to a low carbon economy while attracting investment and jobs in cleaner technology.
