Planning fees

Planning fees are regulated under the Planning and Environment (Fees) Regulations 2016 and are GST free.

Fees are regulated under the Planning and Environment (Fees) Regulations 2016.

The Regulations set fees in fee units. For ease those fee units have converted to a dollar value on the basis of the value of a fee unit as it is set for the 2017-2018 financial year. A fee unit value is adjusted each year by the Treasurer's amount and is published in the Government Gazette. In accordance with the Monetary Units Act 2004, the current value of a fee unit for the 2017-2018 financial year is: $14.22.

For combined permit applications (where more than one fee applies) the amount payable will be the sum of the highest of the fees which would have applied if separate applications were made and 50% of each of the other fees which would have applied if separate applications were made.
