Subdivision of land

There is a lot to consider when subdividing your land.

Subdividing land may be as simple as separating two dwellings on a lot into two individually titled properties, or as complex as creating multiple allotments from a single property.

Subdividing land may require the provision of:

  • car parking (for existing buildings)

  • drainage

  • open space, reserves or parkland

  • naturestrip landscaping

  • roads

  • utilites such as:

    • electricity

    • gas

    • sewage

    • telephone

    • water

The zone and any overlay of your land will be considered in this process and may affect the type of subdivision you undertake.

In any subdivision project, you will need to obtain a planning permit.
