Geelong Saleyards

The Geelong Saleyards has reopened for the sale of sheep only. The next sheep sale will be held on Monday, 3 April 2017. Drop off times are 3 – 6pm on Sunday, 2 April and from 7.30am on Monday, 3 April.

Due to concerns over late night noise impacting local residents, sheep must be collected prior to 9.30pm on Monday, 20 March, or after 6.30am on Tuesday, 21 March.

Members of a new Geelong Saleyards Advisory Committee have been appointed. The committee will hold its first meeting on 23 March at City Hall.

A decision on the future of the Geelong Saleyards, including the use of the site for cattle sales, is expected to be made in June 2017, following full costing of OH&S works on the cattle yards, the development of a regional agribusiness strategy, and the completion of an independent local stock market analysis.
