Employment and Training - Swim, Sport and Leisure

If you want to enter the sports, aquatics or recreation industry, the qualifications below are usually required.

Swim, Sport and Leisure is a department within the City of Greater Geelong, responsible for providing access to various health, fitness and recreation facilities throughout the Geelong region.

Our centres are committed to providing programs and activities that the whole family can enjoy. Swim Sport and Leisure centres have been serving Geelong, Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula local communities for over two decades. All centres are easily accessible, family friendly and have facilities and services for all ages and abilities to enjoy!

Swim Sport and Leisure manage the following centres:

Short courses for First Aid, Pool Life Guard and CPR are all conducted by the City of Greater Geelong and all qualifications are recognised nationally.  

Types of roles with Swim Sport and Leisure

Entry level positions include Learn to Swim Teaching and Pool Lifeguard roles. These positions can be a great start to a rewarding career.

For a position in reception, you need to be familiar with a range of our programs and services. Sales experience is preferred and fitness industry knowledge is an advantage.

Gym and Group Exercise staff require specific qualifications and work placement hours. These qualifications can take weeks or even months to complete.
