Hearing commences: Monday, 24 August 2020
The Amendment rezones rural living properties near Central Road Drysdale to the General Residential Zone and applies overlay controls to manage future residential development.
Subject to government restrictions the Independent Panel is now scheduled to conduct the main hearing on Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August 2020 at City Hall, 30 Gheringhap Street, Geelong.

The Directions Hearing for Greater Geelong Planning Scheme Amendment C363ggee is scheduled to proceed by video conference at 10am on Friday 29 May 2020. Parties to the Hearing have been contacted regarding these arrangements. The Directions Hearing is open to the public. The C363 Panel has announced a second Directions Hearing to be held by video conference. The Panel letter informing of this decision is available below under ‘Panel Hearing Documents'.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the C363 Panel has decided to adjourn the hearing scheduled to commence on 6 April 2020. The Panel letter informing of this decision is available on Council’s C363 webpage under ‘Panel Hearing Documents'.
An Independent Panel has been appointed to review submissions. It is due to conduct a Panel Hearing on Monday 6, Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 April 2020.
After the hearing, the Panel usually takes 4-8 weeks to provide its report back to Council.

Council considered a report on the submissions to this Amendment on 28 January 2020 and resolved to refer them to an Independent Panel.

Anyone who made a submission will be notified about the Panel Hearing (the first step is a Directions Hearing) and given an opportunity to present to the Panel.
Consideration of the report on submissions was deferred at the 10 December 2019 Council meeting and will now be considered by Council at the meeting date shown above.

The Amendment applies to rural living zoned properties bounded by Jetty Road, Thomas Street, Wyndham Street and to the rear boundary of Central Road properties, Drysdale. The Amendment also applies to residential zoned land at 1 Sheileen Court, 2-20 Sheileen Court and 23 Marsh Court, Drysdale.
The Amendment proposes to rezone the Rural Living Zone land to General Residential Zone Schedule 1, and apply a Development Plan Overlay and Development Contributions Plan Overlay to guide residential development. A Design and Development Overlay is proposed to apply to adjoining land at Sheileen Court and Marsh Court to provide for future road and drainage connections.
