In partnership with the State Government through Regional Development Victoria and Tourism Victoria, we have been working towards the development of a Mineral Spa and Wellness Centre (MSWC) for the Geelong Waterfront.
This collaboration will capitalise on the benefits of this high-quality mineral water resource in the heart of the city.
The project has potential to leverage private investment and facilitate job creation, both directly and indirectly, during the construction and operational phases of the project. The operational phase will create opportunities in tourism related services such as food and beverage services, recreation and health and cosmeceutical services which is a significant employment sector in the local economy.
The project serves a range of already accepted strategic objectives for our council, Tourism Victoria and the State Government. The development of a MSWC in Geelong will add activation and amenity to serve our growing population, increase visitation, health, wellbeing and economic outcomes.
The MSWC project will be seeking a private developer/operator or consortium to invest approximately $20 million to build and operate a day spa on the waterfront overlooking Corio Bay.
