Susan Hayward is a local Geelong artist and founder of Oxide Contemporary Arts. She has been a practicing artist since 1994 exhibiting her work in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Geelong.
Susan has been a finalist in a number of art prizes in Sydney including the $30,000 Blacktown Art Prize. She was an exhibitor at the ARTiculate Arts Fair at Sydney Olympic Park in 2006 and in 2007 coordinated and exhibited at a multi-disciplinary exhibition at Blacktown Arts Centre.
She has since exhibited at Smith Street Gallery, Melbourne, Metropolis Gallery, Geelong, and was one of six artists to be selected for exhibition in the Geelong Regional Artists Exhibition at the Gordon Gallery in 2008 and also in the 2009 retrospective, and in 2010 at Without Pier Gallery, Melbourne.
In 2007, Susan established Oxide Contemporary Arts, an art school and studio specialising in classes for primary and secondary school students. After eight years, Oxide has continued to grow and expand and Susan currently has over 40 students enrolled in weekly classes and provides school holiday workshops.
