In 1988, the National Wool Museum officially opened – with Queen Elizabeth II cutting the ribbon!

In December 2018, the National Wool Museum celebrates 30 years as Australia’s only comprehensive museum dedicated to the wool, fibre and textiles industry. 

Since 1988, the Museum has become a multi-award winning institution bringing a diverse range of world class exhibitions to Geelong - including Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Pharaohs, Antarctica, Scarf Festival and most recently, the UNESCO City of Design double bill: Marion Hall Best: Interiors and Masters: Art of the Precious Metal Object.

Join our official 30th Birthday Open Day with free entry all day, plus sheep shearing demonstrations and guided tours!

Also includes entry into Masters: Art of the Precious Metal Object and Sand in the City. Bookings not required.
