Futsal is the only form of indoor soccer or five-a-side that is officially approved by FIFA and Football Federation Australia (FFA) who form the official governing body for the sport.
Playing Futsal allows players to touch the ball nearly twelve times more than playing traditional outdoor soccer in half the amount of time. It is exciting, many goals are scored and the game is devoid of complex rules such as off-side. The video below gives a short overview of the game of Futsal.
Futsal Geelong is the largest provider of Futsal in the Geelong region, operating out of both the Barwon Valley Activity Centre (BVAC) in Belmont and the Leisuretime Sport Precinct in Bell Post Hill.
Futsal Geelong was created in 2008 by the City of Greater Geelong Sports Venues Management team. The first summer season having just 15 junior teams involved, the sport in the region has quickly grown with the 2017-18 Summer Futsal Season having approx. 260 teams registering across various age groups and divisions between the two council venues.
Venue management also has a great relationship with Little Kickers Geelong who operate a range of fun,
learning and development soccer based programs across various times/days each week during
school terms for Children aged 18 months - their 7th Birthday.
