The following statements are in response to a series of questions from the Geelong Advertiser.
Guy Wilson-Browne - Director City Services:
We will be seeking input from businesses and residents located on or near the High Street shopping strip after the busy Christmas trading period.
Traders and residents in High Street will be involved in developing the design of the cycling treatment, including providing input on any likely car parking changes.
There is nothing locked in at this stage except the route itself.
We will not be finalising the designs for High Street without input from businesses and residents in the area.
We will be seeking feedback from other businesses, residents and the community along the two cycling routes during the feedback period.
People can provide feedback on designs from Monday 8 January until Friday 16 February 2018 at www.geelongaustralia.com.au/BetterBike Connections or they can attend one of the drop in sessions below:
Tuesday 23 January 2018, 3.00pm – 6.00pm
Geelong West Town Hall
Wednesday 24 January 2018, 3.00pm – 6.00pm
Geelong Library & Heritage Centre
Tuesday 13 February 2018, 3.00pm – 6.00pm
The designs will include improved pedestrian and cyclist access and safety. There is more information, including a video, available at www.geelongaustralia.com.au/BetterBike Connections.
