TIPS FOR A WASTE FREE BBQ
1. Avoid disposable – replace paper plates and cutlery with reusable ones, and use cloth napkins instead of paper ones
2. Recycle – provide large tubs for recyclable waste like plastic and glass bottles, aluminium cans and steel tins
3. Reduce packaging – your local butcher can package meat in bulk to reduce waste, and consider bringing your own container to further save packaging
4. Save food – work out how many people are coming so you don’t cater for a cast of thousands
5. Tomorrow’s lunch – yesterday’s barbecue can be tomorrow’s delicious leftovers; bring reusable containers so you don’t throw out good food.
