Differential rates

We have adopted the use of CIV (Capital Improved Value) to calculate rates which allows us to apply differential rates.

We apply different rates in the dollar for different land uses, and has set rates for residential, farm, vacant, mixed use, commercial and industrial to best reflect the rate contribution required from the different property groups.

You can appeal against a differential applied to your property under Section 183 of the Local Government Act 1989.
