The City of Greater Geelong and The University of Melbourne are working towards developing sustainable methods to protect our coastal communities from erosion.

One way this may be possible is to use natural habitats to reduce wave height and accumulate sand.

An example is the newly installed reef at Portarlington, which has been seeded with native mussels to create a living breakwater. We would like to hear your views on protecting the coast by filling in a short online survey.
