Contributions to this engagement have closed for evaluation and review.

Date: Monday, 14 October 2019 to Friday, 22 November 2019

The City is committed to supporting Barwon Coast Committee of Management Inc (Barwon Coast) in providing safe and accessible coastal public spaces for all to enjoy.

Barwon Coast is the land manager of the coastline running between Connewarre and Collendina. As land manager, Barwon Coast must present proposed dog control orders to the City for consideration. If adopted, the City can patrol and enforce the new orders.

We would like your feedback on the proposed changes.

Please take into consideration the following points when leaving your feedback:

  • Access and Equity for all – do proposed orders cater for all beach users, especially those with limited mobility or fear of dogs.
  • Simplified Compliance – are proposed orders easy to understand by all.
  • Clear Simplified Signage – can proposed orders be converted to simple and effective signage?
  • Personal Safety – including safe and equitable access to swimming beaches?
  • Environmental Impacts – do proposed orders enhance the local environmental values?

You can access the interactive map showing the current and proposed dog control orders here: Map of current and proposed orders
